This sculpture is titled "Bonnie & Clyde". Although their car was a few years younger than this one, If you look closely at the side of the dual cowl you can see a number of bullet holes, thus making the owner some kind of an operator outside the law.
This Packard came with a very powerful straight eight engine, making the get away usually very successful.
How many gun battles it survived, no one really knows. But one dark night it ran off the road into a pond and the engine stalled.
Looks like they tried to get it started again but to no avail as the strong arm of the law was hot on their tail. So, they took off on foot and left “Bonnie & Clyde” to fend for herself. You can see that there is still a lot of power left in the “ole girl” yet.
