I believe that art is created to be enjoyed by the eye and give the viewer a very positive emotional experience. They told me I had some artistic talent when my clipper ship watercolor got framed and hung in my Third grade classroom.
I was schooled in art, architecture, graphic design and offset printing. Since I love old classic cars, I have always built scale models, created sculptures and done paintings of them. Why am I interested in cars? I don’t know. I just love them! Would you believe that my two sons are both master mechanics and their father really doesn’t know how to change a spark plug?
One day, while building and painting miniature classics in all their bright and shiny glamour…I came up with a question: What would this car or truck look like if I sculpted it to look like it had 300,000 miles of wear tear and abuse while being abandoned by it’s owner?
I began to have fun in sculpting these miniature un-restored classics. Friends would marvel over their detail and realism.
Too busy with my career, I waited until I recently retired to get serious with my artwork. I have spend hundreds of hours creating the fine detail on each classic so that it looks like the real thing…only in miniature!
You can purchase new, beautiful bright and shiny die cast miniatures of most of the American Classics. I take it a step farther. I put in all the heart, elegance, romance, nostalgia, wear and tear, grease, grime, dirt and decay that clearly shows the true character and service these “Metal Monsters” gave their owners. It’s all there for you to carefully observe!
Please feel free to browse through my inventory of sculptures here and if you find one that you particularly fancy please let me know!
Another project of mine is the Cross of Passion, a unique, one of a kind wooden cross...
